Sniper Gear
There are 4 major components to sniper gear: the sniper rifle, optics (scope), ammunition and camouflage.
-
Sniper Rifle - A rifle used to ensure accurate placement of shots at greater ranges than other small arms.
-
Optics - A device used to give an accurate point of aim for weapons such as firearms, air guns and crossbows.
-
Ammunition - The material fired, scattered, dropped, or detonated from any weapon, as bombs or rockets, and esp. shot, shrapnel, bullets, or shells fired by guns. Sniper ammunition is typically manufactured to higher tolerances and therefore provide improved accuracy over standard ammunition.
-
Camouflage - The act, means, or result of obscuring things to deceive an enemy, as by painting or screening objects so that they are lost to view in the background. Many snipers use a ghillie suit.
